Here’s a brief description of my performance and teaching background:
In 1986 I studied percussion performance at Western Michigan University. I have studied privately with Paul Wertico (jazz drumming), Rupert Kettle (drum set and percussion), William Vitz (timpani), Tim Froncek (jazz/latin drumming), and Judy Moonert (keyboard/mallet percussion).
I have over 20 years of experience teaching drum set (styles include rock, jazz, alternative, country, blues) marching band, and concert percussion.
My classical/concert percussion experience includes performing with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra, and various musical theater productions at the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre.
On the drum set I have performed/toured/recorded with The Robert Bradley Band formerly known as Robert Bradley’s Blackwater Surprise (RCA/Vanguard Records), The Mertons (Blackdog Records), Catharsis (Industry Records) and with Southwest Michigan groups including Pillar to Post (Rock/Alt-Country), Willamena (Americana Rock), Calico (Alternative Rock), The Undercats (Rock Fusion), One Step Beyond (Jazz Fusion), Brent Chilton (Blues), Bob Ricci (Jazz).
I currently perform with Chicago area bands: art rock group Wilshire (including members of Caliphone and the Fruit Bats), jazz pop singer Victoria Fuller, and indie rockers Pretty Side Down.
